Fear

When I was younger, I used to be really scared of villains from Disney movies. My mom would always tell me that they aren't real, but I never believed her. I used to love watching movies when I was a kid, and whenever a villian came on the screen I would hide under the covers, fast forward the move, or sometimes just shut it off altogether. The wicked witch in The Wizard of Oz and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty used to scare me the most. Ever since then, I am kind of a chicken when it comes to scary movies. The fear of certain parts in the movies held me back from enjoying the movie at all. Just like in the Lord of the Flies, my fear held me back from experiencing things that I needed to overcome. In the book, the boys are held back by the fear of the "beast", and it takes advantage of them. This fear turns their world upside down, and everything turns to chaos and they lose sight of what they really need to get done to survive.
